Mike Read is an English radio DJ, writer, journalist, and TV presenter with over 40 years in broadcasting. Best known for his work with BBC Radio 1, where he hosted the Breakfast Show and championed new music, he also presented popular 1980s TV shows such as Saturday Superstore and Pop Quiz.

Read’s career began in 1976 at Radio 210 before moving to Radio Luxembourg and then Radio 1 in 1978. Over the years, he became a beloved figure on various radio stations, including Capital Gold, Classic FM, and Jazz FM. He also made a mark in television and songwriting, contributing to charity singles and musicals, while continuing to write and publish poetry and books.
